52/52 Challenge :: Stripped and Refinished Entryway Mirror

Entryway Mirror American Walnut I’ve been wanting to do this project for a long time. I had this mirror painted green….you heard me, green! It didn’t go at all but I really liked the color. Weird. I know. I procrastinated a long time thinking it would take forever to strip the paint, sand, and stain. I was wrong! This project took about an hour from start to finish. Makes me wish I hadn’t waited so long.

refinish painted wood supplies My partners in refinishing the mirror. I highly recommend Tuff-Strip for ANY project! It’s fast! Minwax Wipe-On Poly is another easy product. I love this stain, wipe on, wipe off. I wish I had gotten the Dark Walnut instead but the American Walnut worked just fine.

Like the green?

Entryway Mirror I told you it didn’t go! nuff said! moving on….

entry-mirror-paint stripping I started by spreading the Tuff-Strip on and letting it sit for about 10 minutes….I like how it bubbles! I used a handy metal scraper to scrap the paint off. hehe, funny how excited I got after seeing the wood.

entry-mirror- This is what it looked like after it was all naked. Just bare wood. I liked it but my church pew opposite the mirror is bare wood so it was a bit to match-matchy….I couldn’t have that!

Entryway Mirror American Walnut Here it is in all it’s American Walnut Glory! It’s lovely!

Sorry for the noisy (grainy pic) below. I couldn’t get a good shot with my D90/50mm lens……

Entryway 9th&Mayne What do you think of my Entry? I’m thinking I need a new RUG! What say you?

Boring and bestiality!!! Haha that’s great! My atttiude is that YA readers are going to grow up someday, and many of them are already more grown up than you might think. I think they have the maturity and the need to read about and think about more controversial/difficult topics.
